Inked
From LoveToKnow Tattoos
If you haven't yet tuned into the phenomenon that is Inked, isn't it time to find out what you've been missing?
Get Inked
Okay tattoo lovers, if you aren't getting enough tattoo reality watching Miami Ink, then you need to check out A&E's Inked.
Take one motocross star with a serious passion for tats, and follow his adventures setting up a shop in one of Las Vegas' classiest venues, the Palms Casino Resort. Add a collection of offbeat, yet extremely talented skin artists, and you have the premise of the first season of Inked.
The show can be found on the A&E network on Wednesday nights, 9:00 P.M. EST, but repeats are on almost daily - check your local schedule.
Who's Who
Let's meet some of the main cast.
Carey Hart
Carey Hart is the driving force behind Hart & Huntington Tattoo. Literally. When Hart isn't keeping a lid on the antics of his employees, he's hitting it hard on the motocross circuit.
Hart's first taste of fame came winning gold at the 1999 Australian X Games. Will his recent brush with TV celebrity curtail his extreme sports career? Only time will tell, but when age and injury take their toll, having your own TV show to fall back on isn't too shabby.
Dizzle
Kind of sweet, kind of screwy, Dizzle is really the break out cast member of the show. Currently trying to pursue his apprenticeship as a tattoo artist, Dizzle has hit a major speed bump, having been cut loose by his mentor Twig. The boy's got some real talent, but it's his inability to get serious that keeps getting in his way.
Can a slightly goofy twenty-something year old guy with a good heart really find happiness as a rappin' tattoo artist? Dizzle's going to give it his best shot. Stay tuned.
Twig
Originally an excellent airbrush artist, Twig moved into tats about six years ago. This man appreciates body art, and really believes it takes discipline to truly learn the craft. So it's only natural that he takes on Diz as an apprentice, right? Not.
Frustrated with more than one of Dizzle's antics, Twig has decided Diz needs a reality check, and gives him the boot until he really understands what it means to have a career in body art.
Will Diz and Twig work it out?
Clarke
If you think Clarke looks old school, that's because he is. This man learned his craft working in some pretty rough tattoo shops, and knows how quickly a career can be made or broken.
With some trepidation, Clarke decides it's time Dizzle sees another side of the tattoo business beyond the posh atmosphere of H & H, and takes him to visit Clarke's old stomping grounds to meet the skin artists that originally taught him how to tattoo. What a wake up call for Diz, but the boy is earnestly impressed by the experience, and even gets the honor of tattooing the shop's most respected tattoo artist.
There may just be hope for Dizzle yet.
What's Next?
So, how do the proprietors of Hart & Huntington plan to top the first two seasons in Vegas? Can you say "Cabo"? Yes, this is the planned site of the next H&H tattoo shop, right in the heart of one of Mexico's best tourist destinations.
Will the adventures in Cabo find their way into the show? Most likely, and frankly, we can't wait to see them. Like most other soaps and reality shows, Inked is addicting.
