Tattoo Designs of Zodiac Signs
From LoveToKnow Tattoos
The Zodiac has been helping people answer questions about themselves and their lives for hundreds and maybe even thousands of years,as a reminder many people get tattoo designs of zodiac signs.
The Zodiac
The zodiac was first conceived by Babylonian astronomers when they split the sky up in to twelve parts. Back then you could make out more stars in the night sky than you can today due to the lack of pollution that prevents light from shining through the atmosphere. These sections of space were used as a coordinate system. Astrology expanded this system to include a spiritually twisted belief that the stars and constellations had a tremendous influence on the world, especially individuals and even more so on their birthdays.
Personality traits are often attributed to our zodiac signs. If you are a Cancerian it is expected of you to love the water, just as a Libra should have a strong sense of right and wrong. Reading the stars has been used to predict the future for hundreds of years, although there is no factual data to back it up, only faith. As long as there is faith or a strong belief, there will be a zodiac.
The zodiac consists of 12 signs. Each of these signs has a date frame that typically begins near the end or middle of a month to the beginning of the following month. When we are born determines what sign we are. The signs of the zodiac always consist of two parts:
- A sign that represents the star formation
- A symbol for easy reference
The twelve signs of the zodiac and their corresponding symbols:
- Aries the Ram
- Taurus the Bull
- Gemini the Twins
- Cancer the Crab
- Leo the Lion
- Virgo the Virgin
- Libra the Scales
- Scorpio the Scorpion
- Sagittarius the Archer
- Capricorn the Goat
- Aquarius the Water Bringer
- Pisces the Fish
Of course, each sign of the zodiac brings with it certain personality traits. In the case of Aries the Ram, they are predicted to be adventurous, courageous, impulsive and impatient. Is this always true? Of course not, but many people hold a lot of faith in the zodiac and it is scary how some times the personality traits match a person flawlessly.

Everything around us gives off some sort of hue and color. In many cases the color is also representational of the planet that is associated with the zodiac signs. If you don’t happen to like the color that is associated with your sign many people will use the color of their birth stone. Cancer, for example, is the ruby. The ruby is of course red, but that is also the color that represents Aries and its planet, Mars.
