dec 7 2009 im thinking of getting the american flag tattoo with the sayng dont tread on this with snakes garding it,like the old dont tread on me thing,would many people think thats disrespectfull,as i wouldnt mean it that way.....

im thinking about gwtting a tattoo of a flag on the isisde of my bicipe like tearing out of my skin is that something people will find disrespectful

Allen- go for it. Just make sure you like it 110%. Soon I'm getting the flag to compliment the eagle on my back to celebrate my acceptance into Army ROTC. It doubles as a tribute to 9/11- I can't wait to get started!!! Happy tattooing.

I agree with you to an extent until you get to the do's and don'ts. I want to get a tattoo of a tattered American flag because to me it shows what America has been through and how she is still standing tall, maybe not as tall as she once was, but her shoulders are still back at attention and willing to fight. I have never really wanted a tattoo before but I am getting out of the army next month and wanted something to remember it by (for lack of better words). What do you think about a subdued flag on the right arm (stars forward) like we wear in combat? good or no good?
