I got my belly peirced a few years ago and after a few months it came out.. it is healed now but there is still a bit of a scar...would i be able to get it done again? or not?
-- Contributed by: LouAntionette: Do not pierce your navel yourself, the health risks are massive as there is no way to sterilise a needle at home. Boiling, burning and alcohol only remove surface bacteria and dont protect your from blood borne infections. You are not going to be at the right angle to get the piercing in the right place by doing it yourself either and Navel piercings are very tricky to heal when they are in at the correct 90 degree angle. Its best to save up and go to a piercer a piercing is a special thing you want it to look pretty so see a professional!
Tiffani: If it was 4 years ago you must have gotten very lucky to have kept it. It should be fine but I doubt it is as well placed as a professionals :D
Haley: Spring/Summer is the best time because it is warm enough for you to keep in uncovered meaning it wont be bothered by the friction of your clothes. You can really get them done at any time of the year and just ensure you wear baggy tops but letting them out is better :D Last poster: Navel piercings take 6-18 months to heal properly and dont take kindly to chlorine or the bacteria loafing in swimming pools so I wouldnt get it done until you can be out of the water for at least 6 months

-- Contributed by: Tiffani-AmberTo answer ashley's comments, yes u can get a belly button piercing. I have an innie-outie and I got my belly button pierced on the button. Due to the fact that was it an innie-outie I was unable to get a piercing on the top. But the buttom still looks sexy.
-- Contributed by: olettaim really depressed. i have an outtie belly button and im not sure if i can get a belly pericing.. its not like a total outie its half outie half innie, am i able to get a normal belly pericing? :(

-- Contributed by: antionetteHi Stephanie,
Ouch!
I'd skip the visit to your piercer and go straight to your doctor. You need to have it looked at from a "medical" perspective. This is no longer just a piercing, it's a wound.
Some physicians do offer piercing, so based on your own doctor's recommendations, you might want to try that route in the future.

I've just gotten my belly pierced for the third time, and it's beginning to look like its going to slowly rip out again. It's been 2 years now since the last time i've pierced my navel. My present piercer convinced me that this time it wouldn't reject because he's using gold jewelly and that he'd pierce deeper this time. It's been two weeks now and the top already is beginning to scar. I've also noticed that the jewelry slants to the left. Help! I've been so scared to touch it or do anything since it's gotten pierced because im afraid it'll rip out again. I clean the jewely once in a while with antibacterial soap. and i spray the antiseptic spray 3 times a day. regardless of that. i just leave it alone. However this scar is begninng to freak me out. i plan on calling my piercer tommorow. he's probably going to tell me some bullshit.. to not worry. he's gotten my money so what does he care if it rips out again.
