gems are assigned by month... not zodiac sign... mine is an aquamarine, as I was born a march pisces... however, my sister's is an amethyst as she is a February pisces (pisces runs late feb - late mar)....

i think you got it right when you said it is difficult to see beyond surface of a pisces. i think we have layers to what is going inside of us. just like we are caring, to become close to someone we'll make layers of connections to someone. just like when we leave someone we'll begin disconnecting those layers. i think pisces are strong, being the last of the signs,we've already cycled through the other signs,on the verge of starting over in the next life.
