Puerto Rico has a long history of creating beautiful tattoo art. Not only political, and cultural tattoos (like the coqui and the flag), but also military tattoos and tourist art as well. The PR Board of Health has been excellent about doing as much as possible to educate the tattoo artists and clients, and there has never been a reported case of illness due to a tattoo on the island, tourist or local.

I would highly suggest Senzala Tattoo in Viejo San Juan. They are always in the newspaper and are a very celebrate shop on the island, also one of the oldest, with 11 years of the same location and phone number.

Cucho, sounds like a great idea. Check encyclopedias if an internet source turns up no results. Or, seek the history books in your local library for inspiration. Good luck.

Can anyone help out with a puerto rican flag and irish shamrock tatoo combination??? I would like to put one on representing my son's heritage but have not found anything on the net.

It might be worth noting that the Lord's Prayer tattoo that spirals around Ricky's right arm is actually incorrect. When it was designed, whoever put it together typeset it completely out of order! The Aramaic Blog has an article about it with what it really says.
