there are places in Apia where you can get samoan tattoos done with an electric machine..sanitary conditions in the shops may be marginal but they do use sterile equipment, wear gloves and have autoclaves..

the tools are still the same, but are replaced with metal and nylon in place of the sharks teeth and coconut fibre. f.y.i the tattooist is called the 'Tufuga' not 'Tatfuga'

has the technology changed with Samoan tattooing?....instead of etching the tattoo with the sharks tooth stuck to a drum stick is there another way of doing the Samoan tattoo....for instance printing??...has the new technology changed the way people do the Samoan tattoo?
