Hi Sara, and thanks for your input. We can't always find the exact images we want, but the tattoo pictured above provides great inspiration for a sparrow tattoo if you modify the bird to more closely match the sparrow's structure. Thanks for pointing out the difference. :)

I relate to the modest Sparrow idea... I'm unique but don't really make a show of it... also the Love and Loyalty as well as the memory of a lost loved one. For me, I feel as though they symbolize a free spirit, that which I am... and the notion of taking flight has me tuning in to my love of traveling.

Something else that ties into the traveling them of the Nautical section is that Sparrows can always find their way home. So a lot of people get it as a symbol of traveling great distances in life, but always finding their way home.

Me and my husband are getting similar sparrow tattoos, I already have mine. I've always known the meaning to be that sparrows mate for life when they're in the wild, and that it means true love and faithfulness. So we're getting this to symbolize our love and devotion to each other :)

I'm getting two sparrows on my back. one symbolizing the death of people close to me and how there now around me at all times like the took there wings are are now flying and the second symbolizing over coming my daily battles with the deamons in my head

im an aspiring tattoo artist, so this actually kinda helps, because im not aprenticing, im teaching myself. ive been trying to find tutorials for my tattoo drawing and stuff, and its kinda hard to find them.

since i didnt now how to draw a sparrow, i thought id look it up and see what i could find. deffinently a good way to learn =]

i am planing to get one on each hip mirroring each other. i am getting 2 sparrows because my dad who has passed away had 2 on his chest. i never got to ask him what they ment to him but im assuming they ment freedom for he was in prison. he had the words "sweet" and "sour" below them and when i was little he would always say the sweet bird was mine. so to me they mean freedom and love. cant wait to get them done!

Both my grandparents passed away in a 3 month period back in 2002. My g'mas song for my g'pa was two sparrows in a hurricane by tanya tucker so I am wanting to get two sparrows holding on to each other durin a hurricane w/ their names n dates in the debris.

I just resently got married. i want to get a tatty of a sparrow becasue my married name is sparrow. so it my family name. also my husband is in the canadian navy. and i am allways praying he will come home safly. Get more creative and real in your art of the tattoo world there is so much more beauty to it so get it. also your web page needs to way more creative then just a simple white page go for add some color. The tattoo world is spose to be very unique so go for it and add to your black n whites or learn to shade them in other then that don't put shame to the tattoo world. peace out
