Brooke, we love hearing for experiences. Thanks for sharing!

I got my tragus pierced a week ago, and i love it! I don't think it hurt at all, the gross noise made me not even think about the pain. and now even a week later it still doesn't hurt. I think getting my belly pierced hurt way worse, i plan on getting my other ear done in a few weeks.

ohhh and a good thing to clean piercings with is, Dial anit-bactiral soap.

-- Contributed by: Brooke

Rachelle, it will happen fast! Try to distract yourself and it will be over before you know it. Best wishes!

-- Contributed by: Jodie Michalak

i am really considering having it done tomorrow, but i am such a wimp, and have a phobia of needles, i know it says you only feel pressure, but im still bricking it lol

-- Contributed by: Rachelle

Natalie, thanks for sharing your experience!

-- Contributed by: Jodie Michalak

It's a hell of alot sorer, I have both too.

-- Contributed by: Natalie

Thanks, that has helped quite a lot and i have decided to get it done this saturday the 18th, i will write back and tell you how it went! woner what i will get next :)

Ellie, Lots of people have differing opinions. I would say it is comparable. I hope this helps! Good luck!

-- Contributed by: Jodie Michalak

I'm 13 and really want my tragus pierced, i have my upper cartillidge pierced and it was bearable, how does the tragus compare to the pain of cartillidge?

-- Contributed by: Ellie

I love tragus piercings; quite a few people seem to have them now.

I just wanna point out that although this article says the healing time is 8 weeks, cartilage piercings can take over a year to heal fully (as in form a strong fistula/skin tunnel, not just stop lypmphing/feeling tender). A random knock or other trauma can set it back; they're awkward buggers! Also, it's not necessary to turn the jewellery when you clean - this can damage the healing skin, setting back the healing time. It's not going to adhere to the jewellery, don't worry. And the best thing for healing piercings is sea salt soaks - 'disinfecting solution' (i.e. likely to contain alcohol) sounds way too harsh!

-- Contributed by: Amber

Jemma, Prepare for the worst and expect the best! :) Glad you're piercing was bearable!

-- Contributed by: Jodie Michalak

I got mine done yesterday & absolutely love it.. apart from the ring doesn't suit me, but I'm planning on changing to the stud once it's healed. I couldn't get over how painless it was, I was expecting it to hurt alot, I'm so glad I got it done :D

-- Contributed by: Jemma

I want to have it done, does it really hurt?

-- Contributed by: Katie

Misty, they do look great on everyone!

-- Contributed by: Jodie Michalak

Awesome Misty! Enjoy!

-- Contributed by: Jodie Michalak

I had both of mine done today and though they are very sore the look good and are very unique

-- Contributed by: Misty

i'm thinking about getting my tragus pierced, but a friend told me that there is like some kind of nerve or something dealing with being stressed that gets messed up if you get this piercing.. is that true?

-- Contributed by: tiff

Stacey, Glad to hear your piercing looks and feels great. Thanks for contirbuting.

-- Contributed by: Jodie Michalak

I got mine done at a jewelery shop for$25 with a peircing gun , and NO IT DIDN'T GET INFECTED. 'till this day everythings good, I have had it for more than a year and i love it, its very unique:D

Great tips! Thanks!

Elinda: The tragus piercing can take anywhere from 4 - 12 months to heal so keep at it a bit longer. I'm sorry to hear you've had so many infections.

How are you cleaning it? Ideally you should be using a sea salt soak and not anything antibacterial or chemical :D Also try not to sleep on it as your head is a very heavy part of your body and will put a lot of pressure on the piercing. If you want some more advice on how to clean it there is a full guide on my website listed bellow - which should keep you infection free! you can post questions like these any time (no registration required). It can be found at titaniumsenthralled.co.nr (just copy and paste into your browser). Best of luck Ku xxx

-- Contributed by: kuku

I got mine pierced yesterday they used a curved needle and a loop earring... Using the phone is difficult and sleeping can cause a problem. I did not bleed and it did not hurt at all. :D

-- Contributed by: Kristen

Elinda, expereince does differ! Sounds like your body reacted. If I were you, and the piercing continued to cause pain or infection, I would remove it. Perhaps you have an allergy to the metal? Best wishes.

-- Contributed by: Jodie Michalak

I got my tragus pierced a long time ago; I still have it in....but my ear was sore for 6 months! I couldn't even use the phone on that side. In fact, the infection in the piercing migrated into my ear and made me extremely sick -- more than once. I still have reoccurring ear infections on that side... but I'm way too stubborn to take it out! I thought the actual piercing of the tragus felt good. It was just the aftermath that sucked.

-- Contributed by: elinda

Weepingeonface, Thanks so much for sharing your story. Hopefully it'll feel better soon- if not, remove it and chalk it up as experience!

I had my tragus pierced 4 days ago and I'm not sure how I'm feeling about the whole thing. It was, by far, the most painful piercing I've had. It is very swollen and I'm having real trouble cleaning it. I love how it looks but I would advise anyone with a low pain threshold to consider this carefully B'coz it really hurts. After reading the comments here I will defo leave it a bit longer to see how the swelling goes but if it doesn't start healing soon it's coming out.

Tav, awesome news! Thanks fo sharing and encouraging our readers. Enjoy!

-- Contributed by: Jodie Michalak

I got my tragus pierced a few days ago and I too was afraid that it would hurt something terrible. To my surprise it didnt hurt at all, all I heard was the crunch! The tricky part is cleaning it.

-- Contributed by: Tav

I got my tragus pierced on a whim with 2 of my friends and it didn't hurt one bit. I had to take it out about 2 weeks after because it started to swell over the earing. I'm now doing research on how to keep it from getting infected and swelling and plan on getting it done again at christmas!

-- Contributed by: meagan

SarahKate, Thanks for sharing your experience with our readers. Hope you enjoy!

-- Contributed by: Jodie Michalak

i had my tragus done today. I have to say it didnt hurt me one bit and i dont have the highest pain thresh hold. I thought it would kill seen as its quite hard area but it was nothing and i love it! so if your thinking of getting it do it :) SarahKate 16

-- Contributed by: sarahkate

I got my tragus pierced yesterday and it seriously didnt hurt as much as i thought. My friend got it done a few weeks before me and she said it really hurt, but only whent he needle was going through and that was only about 3 seconds of needle, after that ou barely feel anything. I also got my eyebrows waxed for the first time after wards lol so i took my mind of one pain to another P:

-- Contributed by: Allie

I had my tragus pierced for the second time about a year ago, it's not that painful to have it done, especially now that they use the cork. The first time I had it pierced was back in 97 there was no cork and no hollow needle so they had to drag the jewelry through, that was quite painful. Keep it CLEAN. Infection there does hurt quite a bit.

-- Contributed by: Chareen

NP, Try to stay focused on something other than the pain. If the idea deters you, find someplace else if need be where you feel comfortable. Good luck.

-- Contributed by: Jodie Michalak

I am looking to get my tragus pierced, however I have heard some scary stories about the pain. I already have my cartilage and belly button pierced and I don't think either hurt too much. Any help on calming my nerves before I go?

-- Contributed by: NP

Shani, Congrats and enjoy your new piercing!

-- Contributed by: Jodie Michalak

omg i just got mine pierced 1/2 an hour ago it wasnt that sore at all i was kind of nervous before but it was grand!!!!!!i am so happy i got it done now!!!!XXX

-- Contributed by: shani

B.Cee, as other readers have contributed, make sure you visit a reputable piercer and follow their after care instructions verbatum. If you notice any signs of infection, seek medical care. Good luck and enjoy your piercing!

-- Contributed by: Jodie Michalak

well i was planning on getting mine done tomorrow because its my birthday. but i was hesitant to get it because i heard that if the piercer wasnt careful they could hit some nerve endings and paralyze you in the neck or something like that...but if there are no injuries pertaining to a tragus piercing (other than infection) than i think imma go ahead and get it =)

-- Contributed by: b.cee

I got mine done a fortnight ago and it got SO badly infected desppite cleaning it atleast 3times a day im now on anti-biotics!Apart from the infection I dont regret getting it done at all! doesnt look at all nice at the moment though!! lol.

-- Contributed by: Marie

I got mine done yesterday and I ensure you that it did not hurt. If anything I found it a bit uncomfortable and more like an annoying pain, when she was appling pressure to my tragus in order to stop the bleeding. Besides that, I totally encourage anyone who wants to get this piercing to get it done! =) it not as bad as you think ;) & make sure to go to a reputable piercing place.

-- Contributed by: Agnes K

I got mine done yesterday along with two other piercings. It doesnt hurt at all it just like a sharp pinch and some pressure. You may or may not hear a popping sound when the needle goes in, it depends on how soft your cartiledge is. IT TOTALLY WORTH IT!! go out and get it done right now.

-- Contributed by: Amanda

I've had mine done 6 months now. It's been perfectly fine, an easy unique piercing =]

-- Contributed by: Hollie

i did both of mine last night. it didnt hurt hardly at all, and they look really cute.! just dont mess with them too much, because like your tongue piercings, they will swell and be kinda sore. its a cute peircing, and way worth it. (:

-- Contributed by: Jessi(:

SO.. I did mine myself.. and they're AMAZING.. didn't hurt AT ALL.. or even bleed like I had expected.. It's WORTH IT!!!!

-- Contributed by: Bail

look on ebay. they have SUPER cute ones. and awesome prices. i got mine done at 5 p.m. today. and it looks AWESOME! it only took like 3-5 minutes to do too so that made it better. =]

i just got both of mine done 3 hours ago i love them

-- Contributed by: megz

I got my Tragus pierced about 2months ago it is healed all the way and it looks so cute im thinking about getting the other one done. The only problem i am having with mine is trying to find cute enough jewelery for all the jewelery i have seen for it is to plain. :(

-- Contributed by: lauren

i just got my tragus pierced yesterday and i love it. pain doesn't really bother me so i wasn't worried about it. it's sort of sore now but not bad. i love it!

-- Contributed by: Sam

i got mines on my bday this wekk... i went hard core and got both at the same time.. i love them especially since i got a short haircut it looks adorable

-- Contributed by: tiara

i got my tragus pierced about 4 weeks ago and it's completely healed now. it was sensitive to touch and swollen a little for about a week or two, so if that's what you're worried about, you're fine. just keep cleaning it! i used the anti-septic Claire's gave me when i got my earlobes pierced and that worked perfectly, and i put triple anti-biotic ointment on it everyday to keep it from getting infected.

-- Contributed by: sarah

im about to get mine done and everything ive heard makes me reallly nervous.i want to just have them put it straight in like they do for a regular peircing.i want to be original and get this done but i dont want to have to go through extreme pain for it.i want to to happen real fast.how long does it take? and does it take a long time? please give me as much information as you can give me.

-- Contributed by: emily

I've had both of mine done for almost two years, i had a lot of trouble with my right one, with the red bump on it it's called a keloid, when i got it i called my piercer and he said to crush a pill of ibuprofen or tylenol, something like that, and mix it with vitamin E oil to make a paste after you clean your ear with hot water just put the paste all over both sides of the piercing i've used this for a couple of my piercings and i swear it works :) good luck!

-- Contributed by: marie

I just got my tragus done about 4 days ago and now it's starting to hurt (throb) more than before! is that normal?? it doesnt look infected or anything and i clean it regularly with a cotton ball and bactine; should i be using something else? thx

-- Contributed by: Sierra

I got my tragus pierced on the left side back about a month or two ago and they put a ring in it. I took extremly good care of it making sure not to irritate it by cleaning it to much but cleaning it enough to make sure it doesn't get infected. But about a month ago I got a bump on it that was red so I went back to where I had it done and the piercer told me to put tea tree oil on it, I did that and nothing seemed to be happening for about a week until I had to start picking off scabs for it to go away. I went to the doctor and she said it was fine because it was mostly gone and now a few days later it has come back and it bleeds a lot and it's a big red bump and my mom thinks it's a blood vessel or something. She wants me to take it out. Is there anything else I could try before I have to remove it? It cost me a lot of money and a lot of pain and i will try anything before I have to.

-- Contributed by: Rachel

I did my own and they look great I have not even had one prob with them but my parents think I was nuts 4doin it by myself at school camp anyway I think they look great and I recomend 2try it one day LOL but u don't have 2do it by yourself like me thxxx

-- Contributed by: kayla

i got my left side done yesterday and it was pretty ok. not too much pain and only the occasional throb today. but my piercer told me i'd be better off getting a bar at first as it prevents a lump, and they'll change it to a ring after a few months...

-- Contributed by: Ash

claire, you shouldn't wear a nose stud in a tragus hole. Like it said in the article, a captive bead ring is the best.

-- Contributed by: Taylor

Yeah, my cousin pierced both of mine on Christmas day, and it didn't hurt a bit. It's really easy to change the earring too because the cartilage is so thick.

-- Contributed by: Taylor

i got my left side done last week and the right side 2 days ago! didnt hurt much the pain was quick n bearable! any1 finkin of gettin it done i say defo go 4 it!!! as long as you clean it twice a day n dont fiddle wth it ul b fine

-- Contributed by: Karen

hi, i got my tragus pierced nearly a month ago, i had absolutely no problems with it healing, but the first earring that was put in was a nose stud, and i accidently took it out in my sleep! and now i dont know how to put it back in! its kind of hooked, ive been using normal ear lobe earrings since, but i would love to know how to get the first earring back in, but dont know how to get around the first hook?

-- Contributed by: claire

I have been doing all of those things that you have mentioned up there . but there is a little red bump where the hole is.. Any advice thankss haleyy

-- Contributed by: haley.

I got mine done three days ago aswell, Hardly hurt and it looks good :) Don't regret having it done. as long as you clean it properly with warm water and salt, or a proper solution, and first of all get it done in a place you know, and have been to, or you know someone who has been there and had no problems with a piercing, try not to fiddle wit it (althought it's hard!) then you'll be fine :) but definately well worth it in my opinion!!

-- Contributed by: Alice

i got mine done. not really painful, just alot of pressure. difficult to clean and it leaks clear fluid down my cheek, but i still love it.

-- Contributed by: Sarah

I just got my tragus piercing yesterday. It was worth it! It's my favorite piercing so far. Though I might be a rare case; my tragus hurt or felt a bit worse than when I even got my septum done, and I almost passed out which had never happened before. I'm just informing you. It was still worth it though :)

-- Contributed by: Reg

I got mine done 3 days ago it didnt hurt at all but it made a really gross crunchy sound. It hurts a little now and it's pretty swollen but I love it. I've just been cleaning it with sea salt and water which seems to be working alright so far

-- Contributed by: Jj

I have had my tragus done for a few months.... it didnt hurt as much as my mum said it woul coz she heard a pop.... mine was quite hard as the fella struggled to push it through... its super cute and i love it!!!

-- Contributed by: riley

i want to get this part of my ear peirced but my friend just told me that her friend did it and half her face is paralyzed because she hit a nerve...i dont want this to happen will it>

-- Contributed by: lola

Mine stung for a month. The actual piercing wasn't much worse that my regular cartilage piercings. I was using the standard Claire's cleaner, though. Once I switched to sea salt spray, it felt better within days. However, I got ...y and thought it was healed and touched it, and now it is infected and bleeding. Now I know that piercings must really be cared for. But, I do love it. BTW it's not recommended to sleep on it. I have mine on the side I don't sleep on.

-- Contributed by: Monroe

Just got my tragus done not too long ago and I love it!! My piercer didn't use clamps, which was nice, and it was really fast. It didn't really hurt, it was just a bit uncomfortable when he was moving this around to put the jewelry in place. I didn't have any bleeding, and it was a little tender for the first few days, but I didn't have any problems sleeping on it or anything like that. I'm really happy I got it done because it is just a little bit different. I definitely recommend it!

-- Contributed by: Lexi

I got mine done on 2 days ago. Mine didn't hurt, but it bled quite a bit. My piercer used a Nostril Screw for mine. Its just tender for a while, like most other piercings. It's hard to sleep on it, but its actually quite painless, and its extremely cute!! :D

-- Contributed by: Trista

I just got my tragus pierced the other day and i absolutely love it!!!! It didnt really hurt like everyone said it was going to. I felt pressure when they pierced it but that was it. I mean it's tender there now but thats really about it.

i REALLY REALLY want to get my tragii pierced but my mom doesnt think its "becoming" of a young lady *womp* she...me off i swear lil. im set on getting it done behind her bacl because all of her reasons as to why i cant get it done are the reasons why SHE wouldnt get it done she doednt understand ... i am my OWN person. *agh!* anyway im 16 my brothers going to be 18 and will take me lol so yeap yeap yeap i think im in there ive researched it and everythign im SET i have the money and everything i just need to go get it. im super stoked

I got my right tragus pierced in August of 2006. It got infected twice due to the wrong cleaning solutions. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use rubbing alcohol to clean your piercing. I used this on both of my naval rings (top and bottom) to clean them, however, alcohol is WAY too strong for your tragus. The H2Ocean solution works wonders. I used that along with the Dermaklenz piercing soap and it helped my piercing to heal in 2 months. I got the other side pierced about three days ago and Im mixing the dermaklenz soap and dial liquid soap to wash my left tragus. Then I use a large suringe (no needle) to rinse the front and back of the piercing. When there's no more soap, I spray some H2Ocean and let that drip dry while I twist the earring. Its working very well thus far.

-- Contributed by: Summeur

I thought the tragus piercing hurt the worse out of all the piercings I had. (2 lobes, and a lip), but it was worth it. I have had it for almost three months now, and I love it so much! My piercer also told me a barbell is better for this piercing, so that's what I have. It hurt at first to sleep on that side of my head, but now everything is fine. A lot of people seem to be getting this now a days, so it's not as original as it used to be. It is by far my favorite piercing, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!

i got both of my tragus's done about a month ago.. i got them 3 weeks apart as to give the one side time to heal a lil and see how the process went.. well the left side did hurt a little more and bled unlike my right side but it wasnt a unbearable pain it hurt less that getting your lobes pierced does.. i suggest this piercings to someone who wants a new exciting addition to their body and can accept the challenge of healing these little buggers!

hey dawn, i just got my tragus pierced three days ago and yes it does hurt for me as well when i yawned or moved my jaw or even tried to tie my hair up cause of the skin tugging or moving the piercing. It only hurt the first day when i got it pierced, but now its fine and still healing. i hope this was helpful :)

-- Contributed by: Denise

I got my tragus done over the summer and I love, love, love it. The best piercing decision I have ever made. It is unique, not very common, and it is just really fun. It sort of hurts but not much more than getting your ear lobes pierced, and then it hurt for a while to smile and sleep on it but that was it. I used saline solution on it and it healed very well, every now and then if it gets irritated take a warm wash cloth and put sea salt on it and compress it for a few days and it goes away. My sister had a bad tragus experience and we both had it pierced at the same place, she used hydrogen peroxide, neosporin, and even some tea tree oil to try and help it heal (when it heals you get a small bump on the top, it is normal, it is just scar tissue healing) they did nothing but irritate it, her biggest problem was she kept touching it, do not touch your tragus piercing while it is healing. Hope that my experiences help everyone.

It's been about 3 days since i've got my tragus pierced. The after pain isn't so bad. It's the actual piercing that kind of gets you....the sound of the needle breaking your skin and driving through ur cartilage.shivers...Anyways my right ear is kind of off center, and i want to get it redone....if this ever happens to u , take the ring out right away so the hole can start healing faster, and make sure ur piercing artist isn't under the influence of anything! by the way...lauren and dawn sound hot hot hotttt :p

I got my Tragus piercing done 7 weeks ago and I love it and yes in the beginning it is normal for it to hurt when you smile to much or yawn that should go in 2-3 weeks depending on your healing time. But I do have a question about my piercing, I dont have a lump but the area around the piercing in my tragus is still quite hard, I am just wondering if this is a normal thing as I dont think I have an infection. I hope someone can help me. Thanks

-- Contributed by: Louby

I just got my tragus pierced about 4 days ago. I absolutely love it. It looks awsome. It says here on this site to use saline solution but I wouldn't recomend it. Try to stay away from things like rubbing alcohol and neosporin etc. Instead wash your hands with Dial(orange)anti-bacterial hand soap. Then put some dial on a Q-tip and use that to clean your piercing. (Clean the inside & outside with dial)Make sure you rinse the soap off well. Then use distilled water mixed with some sea salt and use a Q-tip to clean the piercing on the inside and outside. I recomend using a dixi cup to place the water & sea salt in. I'm not a big fan of needles etc. but I said screw it and got my belly button pierced about 4 years ago. I also have 3 tattoo's and I used to have my nose and tounge pierced. None of them hurt at all. All you feel is pressure and your eyes water thats all for piercings. I haven't gotten anymore tattoo's or piercings for years now but really wanted my tragus pierced. It didn't hurt at all it was just hard for him to get through the cartilege but once he did it looked great. The only thing that hurt was when he put the jewelry in. Other then that thats it. It's totally worth getting. Even if your nervous to go take a friend or boyfriend with you it makes it easier.

I got my tragus pierced 4-5 days ago. When i got it done it didnt hurt i jsut felt the pressure of the needle and after he put the earring in it just felt heavy becuz i wasnt used to something being there.. every now and then when i yawn or move my face a certain way i feel a lil bit pf pain becuz of the way im streching my face i suppose. but other then that its a very cute piercing.. my piercer told me that a barbell is better for the healing process all though lots of people who get them done get the ring .. anyways hope that helps everyone.. and if someone could please tell me if its normal for it to hurt every now and then when i yawn or something. Thanks.

i got my tragus pierced yesterday and its the cutest piercing i have. the piercing part wasnt as bad as i thought the only part i thought was a little painfun was then they were putting the jewelery in. if u want a cute piercing i definately recommend this one.

-- Contributed by: Meghan

I have a handful of piercings the tragus was by far the least painful. The best tip I can give you is don't get hyped up about any piercing. If you go in expecting a lot of pain you're going to be really nervous and possibly not do it, and if it ends up hurting it's already done by time you feel it. I was pierced with a captive ring as well. My cousin and I got ours done at the same time, she experienced throbbing and pain afterwards and I didn't feel too much of anything. It's such a small area that you don't really notice swelling, just a little redness.

-- Contributed by: Ashley

I REALLY WANT TO GET IT DONE, BUT IM SUCH A FRADY CAT ON THAT SUBJECT, FROM 1-10, HOW PAINFUL IS IT?? WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE SWOLLEN?? PLEASE LET ME KNOW. THANKS

-- Contributed by: kathy

I got mine done almost two months ago and mine hurt like hell. It took at least a week for it to stop throbbin and it bled like crazy. BUT I absolutely love it! I would never get the other one done, but I'm glad I worked up the guts to do it. I got my nose pierced too, and it doesnt hurt nearly as bad as a nose ring did.

-- Contributed by: Kristina

i got my tragus done about 2 weeks ago, still a little swollen and crusty haha but other then that its healing really well, i have a captive bead ring in it so its all gravy!

-- Contributed by: josie!@

I got mine done yesterday...And for some reason it hurt really bad...more than my lip hurt to pierce. I think perhaps my piercer took to long to push the needle through so my ear got really hot and pretty painful. It wasn't just a "boom your done" piercing...it was more like a slow push piercing with lots of pressure.

-- Contributed by: Lys

I got mine done like 2 days ago, and it didn't hurt one bit. But ever since I've started cleaning it and stuff, it hurts now.. how can i know if it isn't infected or anything of the sort?

-- Contributed by: Kerry Stuart

I have had my tragus pierced for over a year and a half.It does not affect hearing unless the piercer does something terribly wrong..and that won't likely happen. Just make sure to use warm water with sea salt twice a day,and it's a cute little piercing ^^.

-- Contributed by: Pierce Addict

i heard ot afects the hearing or smth is it true?

-- Contributed by: max

Before i got it pierced it was sooooo nervous. But when i got itt done, it was so easy. i didnt even feel the needle go through, it only hurt a bit when he put the jewlery in. I would deffiantly get my other one pirced. its been like 2 days since it was done, and i cant even feel it. i forget that its there sometimes. but i love it. you should deffiantly get itt done(:

-- Contributed by: Mackenna.

i got mine pierced yesterday. it didnt hurt at all, until he put the earring though. it was pressure but no pain. i absolutly love itt.

-- Contributed by: Kenna.

DO IT!! I LOVE IT AM NOT ONE FOR PAIN SO WHEN I GOT MINE DONE I WAS SHOCKED THAT I SAID "THATS IT ITS DONE"! NO PAIN AFTER EITHER! ITS BEEN A WEEK AND I FIND MYSELF SLEEPING ON IT FORGETTING IT IS THIER.

-- Contributed by: SHARENNA

My tragus was so fun to get done, I'm addicted to needles and out of all 9 piercings this was my favorite

-- Contributed by: Keyleigh

i got mine yesterday. totally awesome, didnt hardly hurt, though putting the jewelery in hurt more than piercing itself. didnt bleed one bit. didnt get red AT ALL or sore in anyway. i forget its even there. even waking up the day after its done, doesnt hurt one bit! go for it:)

-- Contributed by: mckenna

got my done on new years eve. Didnt hurt just felt a little pressure and tugging to get the ring in & thats pretty much it besides some minor discomfort while cleaning. swelling went down with in 24 hours cant wait for it to fully heal.

I got mine done a few days ago, and it HURT! Anyone who says this piercing doesn't hurt is numb from the waist up... In any case it was not unbearable, but I certainly had white nuckles while that 14 gauge needle got crammed through my ear cartalidge! Once done, no problem, and no throbbing. Cool piercing though and worth the pain.

It didn't hurt a bit, just pressure like described. It gets quite tender when I need to listen to someone with my stethoscope though!!

i got mine done a few weeks ago and i love it. i'm planning on a getting a daith piercing next which i know will hurt alot more, but the pain factor of a tragus piercing should not turn you off at all from getting it done. It was more of an issue of pressure rather than actual pain...it was totally worth it. It has been healing really well. go for it!

the tragus is my favorite bolt so far, and ive got a few. its the most angelic piercing on the ear, i reckon. it only was uncomfortable for a few hours. its such a little darling, im so impressed with how it turned out im considering getting my right one done too =]

Got mine done about a month ago.. I'm 15. Didn't hurt at all! It was so easy. But it did hurt about 2 days after..really bad!! I couldn't even smile. But it's all better now.

Sydney- I thought I had a small tragus too, but I guess not. The piercer will tell you if you do.

It was probally my most painful piercing, but I love how it looks. However, it does stay swollen for a while.

I must say that I'm absolutely happy with my piercing......it does hurt but overall its cool! And think u can ask the piercer if he can freeze your ear

-- Contributed by: ashley

I would definately say it hurts more then any other piercing I've done. And I've pretty much done everything. It's nothing compaired to the ear lobe. I had to bring a friend. It looks really good after but it does hurt. Good luck

do they freeze the ear before they pierce it

-- Contributed by: katherine

No, not really, my piercer was really gentle for the most part. Its def tender for a couple of days afterwards I must admit. But the acutal proceudre wasn't so bad.

i don't care who you are but i'd like to know if it really hurt bad...like is it worse than piercing the ear lobe or what? please tell me. thankyou.
